Frequently Asked Questions

OK, we lied. These don’t get asked that frequently. But to save you the trouble of asking us, check below to see if your question has already been answered before messaging us.

  • What time do the gates open?
Gates open at 3PM. Live music finishes at 10:30PM and you’ll need to finish your drinks and be off the playing field by 11PM.
  • Do you offer any discounts or concessions?
We offer a 50% discount on adult tickets for carers, please contact us for more details. From time to time we also run promotions – check our Facebook page for the latest discounts. Unfortunately we do not offer NHS or student discount.
  • Are dogs allowed at the event?
We’re sure that your dog is perfectly lovely, but for the safety of others, especially children, assistance dogs are the only animals permitted to enter the event.
  • What happens if there’s bad weather?
If the festival grounds can be made safe then the event will go ahead regardless of weather. Bring an umbrella if there’s rain forecast, but please no tents or marquees. We might revisit this rule if the weather looks particularly bad – keep an eye on our social media feeds nearer the time.
  • How is the event supporting good causes?
The event is organised and run by a team of volunteers. All profits from the event are used to support local good causes. In 2021, we made donations to the local Scout group, swimming pool, pre-school and squash club. Wherever possible, we aim to support the community by using local traders and breweries to supply the event.
  • Can I camp on the grounds?
Due to the proximity of local residents, camping isn’t allowed at the event.
  • Can I bring a camping chair/deck chair?
Sure, no problem, but please remember to take them home at the end of the day.
  • Can I bring a gazebo, tent, wind break, beach shelter or hot air balloon?
To make sure everyone has a good view of the live music, we won’t be allowing any of these onto the festival grounds. Especially hot air balloons. Keep an eye on the web site and our social media feeds closer to the time as we might revisit this decision if the weather looks particularly bad. Except for hot air balloons. Those still won’t be permitted.
  • Can I bring my own food and/or drinks?
Outside food and drinks aren’t permitted at the event. We’ve tried to price our drinks offerings reasonably and there will be some excellent local caterers at the event, so we encourage you to make use of them. That said, there are some exceptions – you can bring in sealed bottled water and juice boxes for the kids. We’re not monsters.
  • Can I bring a BBQ?
Absolutely not. The festival is held on a sports pitch and we don’t want to cause any more damage to the grass than we have to. Same goes for camping stoves of any kind.
  • Is there local parking available?
Limited parking is available at nearby public car parks, but we strongly advise using public transport, or better yet, walking! Please see the Find Us page for more information. Note that absolutely no guest parking will be permitted behind the Star and Garter pub!
  • I purchased tickets but can’t attend the event. Can I get a refund?
All ticket sales are final, this includes pre-purchased beer token vouchers. If you’re unable to attend the event then we can transfer your tickets into a new name, just get in touch via the Contact Us page. For more information please see the Terms and Conditions on the Tickets section of the site. You’ll also find them printed on your ticket(s).
  • I didn’t spend all my beer tokens. Can I exchange them back for cash?
Unfortunately we’re unable to exchange unspent tokens for cash once purchased, and tokens are only valid for the event in the year that they’re purchased. For that reason, we don’t recommend purchasing more than you plan on spending.
